Welcome To The 2024 Central PA NFF Banquet
I am pleased to welcome everyone to the 2024 Awards Presentation Banquet of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame. The National Foundation was founded in 1947 as a member-supported, non-profit organization that operates nationwide programs devoted to achieve its mission which is "Using the power of amateur football in developing leadership, sportsmanship, competitive spirit and academic excellence in America's youth". Our Chapter is one of 120 chapters nationwide involving over 12,000 members.
For this year's award ceremony, our local chapter is proud to honor Senior scholar-athletes from 52 high schools and 10 colleges and universities. These outstanding young men were selected by their school to receive this Achievement Award based on three criteria: Football skill, Academic success, and Community Service. Additionally, a select number of highest ranking seniors will each receive a $1.000 scholarship.
We will also present special awards for Lifetime Achievements in Football Coaching and Officiating, and a selected high school senior will receive the Joseph Sarra Community Service Award. Today's Banquet is highlighted by our Guest Speaker, Penn State legend quarterback, Trace McSorley.
In the past 26 years, our Chapter has honored 1,200 high school and collegiate nominees and we have awarded over $320,000 in scholarships. This would not have been possible without the tremendous generosity of our members, sponsors and donors. This year's sponsors and donors are listed in the program and they have earned our sincere thanks and appreciation.
