The Central Pennsylvania Chapter National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame has selected Jonathan Condo as guest speaker for its 22 Annual Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner.
Jon Condo was a three year letter winner in football, wrestling, and baseball during his time at Philipsburg-Osceola High School (‘97-’00). During his Senior year, Jon was selected big school All State in football, was a state champion wrestler at HWT, and was an honorable mention All State catcher in baseball. He was also a member of the National Honor Society and finished in the top 15 of his class.
The University of Maryland was the next stop for Jon. He was recruited to play Linebacker for the Terps, but seized an opportunity to get on the field when the team was in need of a long-snapper. Condo played in 50 straight games while at Maryland and saw action in the Orange, Peach, and Gator Bowls. He was also a member of the 2001 ACC championship team. In 2003, Jon was awarded the team's Top Special Teams Performer (1st long snapper to earn this honor). Before leaving the University of Maryland, Jon earned his degree in Biological Science.
Jon started his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2005. He then saw time as a member of the New England Patriots during the 2006 preseason. Condo's career took off when he signed with the Oakland Raiders at the end of the 2006 season and was a member of the silver and black through the 2017 season. During his time with the Raiders, Jon played in 180 career games, was selected to two pro bowls, was a recipient of the "Commitment to Excellence Award" and was also voted Special Teams captain by his teammates. This past season, Condo played for the Atlanta Falcons.
Currently, Jon is a free agent and is keeping his options open on returning to the NFL. He is a board member of the Emily Whitehead Foundation, which raises awareness and funding to pediatric cancer research. Jon makes his home in northern California with is wife and 3 children (Grace (5), Liv (3), & Jack (1).
